While the children in Bakoko are away from school in the months of July and August, the funds Westkam have raised in the past year have been put to good use.
At the last general meeting, Westkam members decided to use approximately €8000 of funds to renovate the ceilings of the whole school, including the headmaster’s office and the four new classrooms which were constructed in previous years. The new ceilings help dampen the noise from pouring rain while also insulating the building in hot weather.
A further €2500 has been used to construct 60 new benches, also to be used in the classrooms in Bakoko. These 60 new benches will add to the 60 benches which were built over Christmas 2014/2015.
